Flowcrete has provided its latest seamless flooring innovation, Naturewalk – a resin bound gravel system that has been specially formulated for use in outdoor areas – for Refurbishment works at the University of East London’s impressive Stratford campus.
In line with an extensive programme of development and improvement at the site, which has seen the addition of new laboratories and computing facilities as well as a new home for the Cass School of Education and the Centre for Clinical Education in Podiatry, Physiotherapy and Sports Science, close to 2,000 sq metres of Flowcrete’s Naturewalk has been used to floor external pathways linking the buildings.
Naturewalk has been designed to ensure that walkways and external concourse areas reflect the natural beauty of the outdoors using a range of natural stone aggregates, which are scattered into a solvent free, flexible resin binder.
Offering an excellent slip resistant profile and available in a decorative range of natural stone aggregates Naturewalk offers a durable alternative to loose stone and a seamless alternative to block paving, therefore eliminating the cracks where weeds can grow and dirt can dwell.
At the Stratford site Flowcrete’s Naturewalk has been laid over asphalt and concrete substrates, however the system can be installed over ‘green’ concrete where required.
Naturewalk is best suited to outdoor environments subject to heavy footfall such as leisure complexes, theme parks, holiday resorts and college or university campuses among other public points of interest.
