Flowcrete has played a major role in the development of an award-winning salon in the Channel Islands, which sets a blueprint for the future of the hairdressing sector.
The dazzling white minimalist look at Brady – located in the St Peter Port area of Guernsey – has been singled out by the hairdressing industry for its bold, innovative and imaginative style.
Judges at the prestigious British Hairdressing Business Awards gave it their Salon Design Award title this year and the showcase design has even featured in a double-page feature in the industry bible, Hairdressers Journal.
Paul Brady and partner Brian Lee have transformed a former luggage shop on the island to create their dream salon, with support from architects Peter Fella & Associates.
Flowcrete’s white Peran SL self-smoothing system has been poured across the entire salon floor, to deliver an atmospheric, high gloss finish that supports the building’s seamless flow.
“The aim was not just to create a salon, but a multi-purpose space for our clients to use socially, creatively and as a hair salon. The Flowcrete floor has helped play a major part in the design concept. It is amazing to be able to walk on a pure white floor, and still operate a normal working environment. This surface has given the project a superb foundation underfoot and a great canvas on which to base the entire interior design.”
