Flowcrete On The Fast-track At Infrarail

Leading flooring manufacturer Flowcrete is launching Flowfast Rapid Transit at Infrarail - its innovative new range specifically developed to transform railway environments.

The system utilises the latest in flooring technology to meet the unique needs of the railway industry.

Flowfast Rapid Transit is a seamless acrylic resin system, which includes the quartz finish Flowfast Rapid Transit SR, the granite-based Flowfast Rapid Transit SRQ and the flexible floor tiles, Flowfast Rapid Transit Tactiles.

Flowcrete will be introducing the range at stand 430 at Infrarail, which takes place at the NEC between 12-15 April.

Alan Dean, Flowcrete Sales Director, said: “Flowfast Rapid Transit has been specially formulated to meet the needs of the railway sector, providing fit-for-purpose floors that meet the needs of users and offer a sustainable solution at ground level.

“It is fire-resistant to London Underground Limited’s Section 12 usage and speeds up construction and refurbishment programmes due to its rapid application process - with the floors generally ready for use just two hours after installation.”

The Tactiles have two variants, the Blister Tactile and Corduroy Tactile, and have been developed for use in underground rail networks, where they are being used to designate the platform edge, or the top and base of stairwells. Offering excellent flexibility and slip resistance, - together with colour variations to assist the visually impaired - they comply with London Underground Limited’s Engineering Standard E3821 A6.

The SR and SRQ systems are seamless, textured floors ideal for use in all areas subject to high foot and vehicular traffic where health, hygiene and fire-safety are paramount, including underground rail networks, washroom areas, warehousing and storage facilities. Their anti-slip finish maintains colour stability under exposure to UV light, and provide excellent scratch, chemical and wear resistance.

Flowfast Rapid Transit is the latest development from Flowcrete, which has its headquarters in Sandbach, Cheshire, and operates around the world. In the UK alone, Flowcrete spends more than £600,000 on research and development – globally amounting to £1.3m.

This approach enables the company to focus on new innovations, paying particular attention to new ‘greener’ systems, based on wide ranging activities including recycling, waste reduction and streamlined manufacturing processes.
